SEEDS
Sustaining economies and enhancing dynamic structures
PRIMA Partnership Project (G.A. 2332) • March 2024 – February 2027
SEEDS aims to revitalize the cultivation of ancient grains, naturally resilient to climate change and pests, in Jordan, Tunisia, Egypt, and Morocco. The project combines agronomic field trials, Living Labs and Community Working Groups for local co-creation, and a digital SEEDS Knowledge Sharing & Capacity Building Platform with four toolboxes covering research, a recommendation system, and best agricultural practices. Each country will also develop two prototypes of ancient grain-based foods, linking resilient agriculture to local markets, nutrition, and sustainable food systems. By integrating science, community knowledge, and digital tools, SEEDS fosters culturally grounded and resilient agrifood solutions for the MENA region.
CERERE
Cereals resiliency revolution for agile supply chain management in the Mediterranean
PRIMA Partnership Project (G.A. 2331) • June 2024 – May 2027
CERERE project is a multidimensional approach to enhance supply chain resilience and viability, and it is based on four established principles, which represent critical aspects that individuals and organisations must focus on to become disruption-proof: 1) productivity monitoring and demand forecasting; 2) threat prediction and continuous risk assessment; 3) collaboration and agile procurement/distribution; 4) intelligent and semi-automated orchestration. CERERE combines artificial intelligence, IoT sensing, and a supply chain digital twin with ground-level farmers’ knowledge to build an early-warning and advisory capacity that will significantly strengthen resilience in the Mediterranean and MENA region.
